I find Jerry's playing to be at it's highest level between 72'-74' and can't say that I hear very much noodling at all in his playing in that period,as his creativity began to decline and the rest of the bands talent began to erode the dreaded noodling seemed to take hold,a good example would be most any Fire on the Mountain.As for his playing at it's height it was never solo driven,more of him on top interacting with band mates as opposed to post hiatus when the band just sort of weakly reacted to what he was doing creating a more solo like feel.
